The IFD was attended by four representatives from the SRCA: Henry Mitchell (member), Nick Price (board member), John Mahan (board member), and Joe Jenkins (executive director). These representatives and their guests attended the event at their own expense; there was no cost to the SRCA.

The event included the World Slating and Tiling Championship for Young Roofers, although there was no slate this year at all. Below is a photo of the competition hall.

The congress included a general assembly (below). During the assembly, various topics were discussed including the location of next year's IFD (Bonn, Germany), IFD finances and auditor report, the IFD commissions (pitched roof, waterproofing, and science and technology), the reports of the working groups (training and education, marketing, business and statistics), introduction of four new members (Turkey, Chinese delegation, Bocker Company, and Finnish Company), and much more. 230 persons attended the IFD in Bucharest and 250 attended the gala banquet.

The SRCA group enjoyed the city of Bucharest:
